Biological, Biomedical and Combined Sciences Outcomes
- Question Formulation: Pose testable questions and hypotheses to address gaps in knowledge.
- Study Design: Plan, evaluate, and implement scientific investigations.
- Data Interpretation and Evaluation: Interpret, evaluate, and draw conclusions from data in order to make evidence-based arguments about the natural world.
The Bachelor of Science in Biology degree is intended for students who plan to a) enter graduate studies in biology or related fields, or b) enter health professional schools in medicine, dentistry, veterinary, pharmacy, or related fields. This degree differs from the Bachelor of Arts in content depth and optimal preparation for professional careers. It is highly recommended that students compare these degree requirements with the admissions requirements of the schools to which they plan to apply, as some variation may occur. Department advisors will work closely with students in this major to help them meet those requirements.
Minimum of 120 credit required, including 48 upper-division credits.

General University Course Requirements
The following courses are required for all bachelor level degrees: 36-39 credits Fine Arts: 3 credits
Any studio-based fine arts course (ART, MUS, DRMA), or ENG 206A , or ENG 206B Laboratory Science: 4 credits
Any laboratory science course except CHEM 105 Social Sciences: 3 credits
Any social science course (ECON, POSC, SOC, PSY) Mathematics: 3-5 credits
Any college-level MATH course or SOC 220 World Language: 3-4 credits
Any world language course Lower-Division Core Requirements: 41 credits
Fisheries and Wildlife Track
Upper-Division Core: 28 credits
Upper-Division Science Electives: 12 credits
Choose 12 credits from the following, with advisor approval Capstone Science Electives: 3 credits
Choose 3 credits from the following, with advisor approval Free Electives: 5-6 credits
At least 5 credits must be upper-division Upper-Division Core: 28 credits
Upper-Division Science Electives: 12 credits
