SOWK 538 - Foundations of Research3 This course introduces the basic concepts of the scientific research process. Students will learn common approaches to conducting research: a) quantitative, b) qualitative, and c) mixed methods. The students will also learn research methods, e.g., ethnography, narrative, phenomenological, grounded theory, and case study as applied to the social work profession. A research project proposal will be completed by the end of the course. All students will successfully complete the Collaborative Institutional Training Initiative (CITI) certificate. Prerequisite(s): Admission to the MSW program
