Concepts and strategies emphasize the alignment of state and district learning goals – including Common Core State Standards and Smarter Balanced Assessments – with effective instructional and assessment practices and the empowerment of teachers to work collaboratively in designing a rigorous and meaningful curriculum for all students. Experienced educators who are interested in becoming school principals or program administrators will further develop a vision for powerful teaching and learning and consider the curriculum alignment necessary to support it.
