Organizational Leadership with ProTeach Portfolio Support: 32 credits 4
The Master of Education degree in Organizational Leadership with ProTeach Portfolio Support is a broad-based program of advanced preparation of master teachers anticipating a career of leadership in and beyond the classroom, and/or educators who wish to pursue graduate study in their specialty area beyond the bachelor’s degree.
Degree requirements consists of 32 graduate credits of which 26 core credits are in the areas of educational foundations, effective teaching, and classroom leadership, focused on student learning, research and best practice, parental collaboration and responsiveness to diverse community interests, and school improvement planning. Six credits, 3 courses, are dedicated to the WA ProTeach Portfolio Support understanding and preparation for submission to the external evaluator for assessment. Experienced faculty will work intentionally with students in class and on an individual basis as needed to assist candidates in meeting the portfolio expectations.
NOTE: Heritage University offers the Residency Certified Teacher two options to register for the ProTeach Portfolio Support Program: (1) six graduate credits or (2) stand-alone reduced fee program where participants will receive 30-90 clock hours or 2-6 continuing education credits.
