Interdisciplinary Studies, A.A.

Return to: College of Arts and Sciences
Ordinarily, a student selects an academic program with specific major or minor, but there may be special circumstances in which a student wants to explore their diverse interests without being confined to a single discipline. This flexibility is particularly beneficial for students who are undecided on a specific major, are exploring new fields, or want to combine areas of study not traditionally offered as a single program. This may be accomplished through an Interdisciplinary Studies program that varies from other majors or minors listed in departments. Requests must be made with the Academic Affairs Office before permission is granted to develop an Interdisciplinary Studies A.A.
This associate of arts program is designed to integrate an interdisciplinary core of studies with a student’s selection of elective courses across multiple disciplines.
