Biomedical Science Degree, B.S.

The Biomedical Science degree is intended for students planning to enter professional health schools such as medical and dental schools. These guidelines may change depending on the requirements of the professional health school to which the student applies. It is highly recommended that students compare these degree requirements with the admissions requirements of the schools to which they plan to apply, as some variation may occur. Department advisors will work closely with students in this major to help them meet those requirements.

1. General University Course Requirements: 43-47 credits

(11 credits may be applied to both the GUCRs and the major)

Minimum of 126 credits required, including 48 upper-division credits.


Note:


The required premedical courses are generally completed by the end of year 3, at which time the student usually takes the MCAT and applies to medical school.
