English Minor

A minor in English requires 18-24 credits, at least 15 of which must be from the upper division as specified below. Students should consult their department or chair for specific courses recommended in support of their majors or for acceptable substitutions.

Two upper-division writing courses selected from the following: 6 credits

ENG 323 - Advanced Composition: Rhetorical Modes 3 credits
ENG 324 - Advanced Composition: Writing in the Sciences 3 credits
ENG 351W - Technical and Report Writing 3 credits
ENG 352W - Creative Writing 3 credits
ENG 410W - Grant Writing 3 credits
ENG 454W - Teaching Comp 3 credits

Two upper-division literature courses: 6 credits

ENG 330 - Introduction to Language Studies 3 credits

One upper-division linguistics course selected from the following: 3 credits

ENG 435W - Language, Culture, & Society 3 credits

English elective: 3-9 credits
