ENSC 370 - Pollution of Lakes and Waterways

3 credits
This course will introduce students to critical issues in water quality such as acidification, eutrophication, land-use changes, pollution and by metals and other contaminants, climatic change, and biodiversity losses. The importance of sedimentary records from lakes (paleolimnology), rivers, reservoirs and other freshwater aquatic environments will be used to investigate past environmental change and evaluate the nature and magnitude of any pollution that may have occurred.
